The land of cord and cheese

Our ski condo at Hunter Mountain today was fully outfitted with old timey ski paraphernalia. If Stacey wouldn’t have stopped me, I might have taken their snow scooter for a rip.

Felt good to get the gear on and some laps in. Hunter Mountain had a 1,500 v.ft. lift with 2 runs open on 100% manmade snow. Both runs were fairly challenging: sections of steep, ice, and bumps. I wonder what those runs are like after a fresh groom. Some guy on his way out gave me with a knowing look and said, “The early bird gets the worm.” Guess we missed the fresh corduroy. We’ll start early tomorrow to see if it’s worth the hype.

Not too many restaurants in town, so it was easy to pick dinner. This place called “Last Chance Antiques & Cheese” obviously caught our eye. What a combo. I don’t think the antiques were for sale, so it was kinda a bait and switch, but dinner was nice and we bought some cheese to take back to our spot.
