Wedding season

Tis the month for holidays and weddings! We started off October with our first road trip up to New Jersey for Amanda & Ryan’s wedding at Perona Farms. It was a quick, but fun trip! Snackbox even got in on the action and got to spend a little time with the bride!

We’ve started taking a new route up north that avoids as much of I-95 as possible for a couple of reasons. The obvious reason is traffic and stress. The route from NC requires going through DC, Baltimore, and Philadelphia which will assuredly have delays regardless of what time you’re on the road. The sneaky reason is tolls – the trip to NJ from NC is about $32 in tolls ($60 if you’re going to NY!) and pulling the camper adds another $20. We’ve found that driving a little more west through Pennsylvania is free, predictable in terms of arrival because of less traffic, and takes the same amount of time. And as an added bonus, the leaves are quite lovely this time of year!

We were back to Raleigh for less than two weeks which was filled with a new petsit client downtown, building the sukkah for CYP and having dinner in it on the first night of Sukkot with friends and family, and going to Woody’s for Super Sunday football watching.

Next we headed to the lake to pick up the camper trailer for our next two week sojourn to New England. The first wedding of this trip was in Boston for Rosie & Eliza at the Marriott Long Wharf. Jeremy was a groomsman in the wedding, and gave one of his best speech performances with Eric on Friday night at the welcome event. Equipped with a 4-foot printed PowerPoint presentation, the two pitched Eliza on the value of investing in Kevin Rosenberg. Before heading east of Boston to pick up our camper at a nearby dairy farm, we met up with Ian & Keyla to root the Pats on to one of their few wins of the season at a local bar.

Our next stop was New York to visit the Bransky’s! Unsurprisingly there aren’t a lot of camper trailers in Long Island, so having ours parked in their driveway was quite the talk of the neighborhood. We gave camper tours and held a quick Q&A with the kids one night before dinner 🙂

Next we spent a couple of days at a Harvest Host in Flemington, NJ before heading to Mike & Rachel’s wedding at Birchwood Manor in NJ. Jeremy and Mike went to UMass together, so the wedding was a fun UMass reunion. Needless to say, Team UMass took the dance floor “seriously” and Jeremy finally got the chance to bring out those finger guns! On Sunday after the wedding we picked up a dozen Jersey bagels for the road, and drove all the way back to the lake where we did our only whiskey run of the year. Better late than never though! Back in Raleigh it’s time to start getting ready for our annual venture north and west for the winter!

FUN post. Enjoyed every picture and laughed out loud at the kids outside the camper. Hahahahaha!! They’re probably still talking about it.

Finally, I just want to say: Stacey – you are beautiful!

      Let the adventures never end!!
      Hugs to both of you!
