Magic carpet
For the next three days we’ll be at Attitash Mountain ski resort in New Hampshire. As you might guess, early December, midweek is not a popular time to ski, so we basically have the entire hotel and ski resort to ourselves. Excited to have a big place with two floors and our own full kitchen! Another thing that is always an adventure traveling around full time is finding places to do laundry in a world that still relies on cash and quarters. But alas we won’t be defeated! Featured in our picture are freshly washed clean clothes, and the snack box hiding in the corner of course.
In other news, I asked JD for telemark gear…and lessons 🙂 for my birthday. We finally found skis and boots over the weekend, so, today was my first time back on the magic carpet in about a decade! I got about 10 “snowbelt” rides in this afternoon, but feeling good about my first 100 vertical feet.

Way to go Stacey …… telemark is haaarrd!!
So what is Telemark? I know I can look it up, but thought I would ask the experts.
Sorry I missed this earlier! Your heels aren’t attached to the skis, so you can do a lung when you go down the mountain. You don’t have to do a lung, but it’s a little awkward trying to ski regularly in the telemark skis.
