We’ve been in the good Old North State for a little under 3 months now continuing our organized randomness lifestyle primarily in Raleigh, Asheville, and at the lake in Littleton.
Lakelife: We started off our return with two lake weekends at the end of May and the again for the 4th of July. We got in some tubing, brought out the shotski, broke in the new hibachi grill, and refined our lawn game skills. We also spent a rare weekend as lake guests on Lake Lanier in Georgia with our gracious hosts the Rubensteins!

Raleigh life: We’ve spent about one-third of the summer petsitting for friends and through Rover around Raleigh, which took us to North Hills, northwest Raleigh, and downtown. For almost a decade my friends have been going to North Street every Tuesday at 6pm for Run Club which starts with a run or walk, followed by drinks and often dinner. Now that we don’t live right next door to North Street it’s hard to make it every week, but I’ve tried to make it as much as possible! Most weeks we take a group photo – perhaps just so Mike can take attendance 😉

Asheville: We’ve made a couple of trips to Asheville. In June we spent a week petsitting for Kelcie and Phil and had the chance to catch up with several friends. Jeremy’s parents also visited, and even stopped by Dad’s shop on the way back to Raleigh! We started off August we spent a long weekend at AVLfest. AVLfest is a new music festival at multiple venues around Asheville. From Thursday night to Saturday night we went to 19 shows at 16 different venues. Chris and Danielle joined us for all the festivities (Chris triumphantly on crutches), and Dad joined for most while also earning a 5-star Uber rating for the weekend. Jeremy, Dad, and I tried kava, which I quickly realized is not the same thing as cava, the champagne-like beverage. Kava with a K is a root beverage that provides effects similar to CBD. The bartender gave us an incredible sales pitch. She told us it tastes like dirt, and advised us to drink it as fast as possible, and provided us with a juice box chaser. 10 out of 10 experience; would recommend.
