Drop knees, not bombs
On day three of telemark, Stacey has graduated to the big girl lift! Attitash was perfect for learning. There was a 100-ft magic carpet, a 300-ft beginners lift, and a 650-ft intermediate lift.
People underestimate how hard telemark is: Even as an advanced skier, it took me 10 days to just make tele turns, 20 days to look decent doing it, and 30 days to start charging. A few seasons into it, I’m still getting better at it every day. Plus, it’s damn exhausting!
We left Attitash today to head to Sunapee, where we’ll ski tomorrow. Stopped off at a brewery along the way. They literally opened just for us, as we were the only people around. New England has some beautiful countryside (lots of water) and great craft beer.
Sunapee has a real-mountain-sized lift (1,400v.ft.) so we’ll have a chance to get some bigger laps in soon!
You Go Girl!!!
