Our winter journey begins
We spent today (Thanksgiving) at the lake finishing our preparations to head out for the winter. Got the truck and trailer packed up for the months ahead: We’re taking the trailer up to New York, where we’ll drop it off for a few weeks and ski the freshly made snow (ice) of New England. After that, we’ll pick it back up and head west, skiing all the rinky-dink resorts on the way to Colorado. We’ll make it to CO by New Year’s, spend a week or two there and then head to Park City, Utah for two months of pet sitting. We’ll probably finish the ski season off back in Colorado before picking up the trailer and making a lap around the Western states in the Spring… We’ll see.
The highlight of today was tuning up our ski equiptment by the lake — the contrast of my favorite summer and winter activities tickled me a bit.
Departure went off without a hitch (did I miss a pun there?). We drove north for a few hours and stayed at a harvest host. They were closed for Thanksgiving, so it was really just a parking lot. We also learned about the McDonalds app, which has deals that are dangerously good (seriously).
I’m so stoked up on the journey ahead! Off to a great start.
